Hi, I’m Jo.
I am a passionate interior designer, with over 25 years experience working in the design industry. My background is a mix of fashion, retail & interiors. I have a fashion degree and moved into a career in high end fashion after graduating, overseeing fashion shows for designers at London fashion week, along with producing trend presentations & styling photoshoots in Italy & Japan.
As much as I loved fashion, I was always a bit more excited by sets and interiors, so I made the move into retail display, working for the incredibly talented Paper Artist Zoe Bradley for many years, producing beautiful sculptural window displays for luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Tiffanys NYC and lots more.
I then moved to the leading retail design agency Millington Associates and quickly worked my way up to board level, overseeing a large production team for 7 years. It was a hugely varied, fast paced role, and I oversaw hundreds of projects, including window displays, interiors, and pop up stores, for exciting brands like Nike, Harrods, & Selfridges, to name a few.
Then came motherhood.
After the birth of my second daughter, I decided it was the right time to fulfil my dream of having my own creative business. We also wanted to leave London and to move somewhere with a sense of community and lots of creativity. I fell in love with Brighton after a couple of visits, and took a leap of faith.
Circus Studio combines all of my passions. I believe good design should be part of our everyday lives and this can have a positive affect on our mindset. I believe our homes should work for us practically, but also inspire us and bring us joy. I always design with this in mind.
I love guiding my clients through the design process and getting them excited about what’s possible, whilst ensuring they end up with a space that works practically for many years to come.
